Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Zebra
10 DAY TANZANIAN GAME PARKS & ZANZIBAR OVERLAND
Nairobi to Dar es Salaam

The Serengeti National Park has an abundance of game on its grassy plains, where thousands of hoofed animals are followed by the predators, while the Ngorongoro Crater has been declared a World Heritage Site as one of the most important refuges for wildlife in Africa. Northern Tanzania is home to the red-robed Masai people who stalk the plains with their cattle as they have done fro centuries, while the coast and Zanzibar are steeped in a long Muslim tradition. Zanzibar offers a tangle of narrow and ancient alleyways to explore in Stone Town and dazzling white beaches. A safari and time on the beach makes a perfect combination.

MASAI MARA

The Wildebeest Migration in East Africa, also known as “The Great Migration” takes place between Kenya's Masai Mara and Tanzania's Serengeti National Park and is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on the planet. Thousands of wildebeest and zebra’s migrate between the Serengeti and the Masai Mara, constantly driven by their search for fresh grazing. The massive herds are closely followed by predators (lion, hyena and cheetah), making the most of every opportunity to catch their next meal.

The precise timing of the annual wildebeest migration depends on the rains. It is a very unpredictable and spontaneous natural event, with calving season taking place in the Serengeti between January and mid-March. The wildebeest migration starts to head towards the Western Serengeti in May or June.
