ZIMBABWE

Victoria Falls is one of the natural wonders of the world and adventure activities such as bungee jumping, microlighting and white water rafting down the Zambezi are rife in the Victoria Falls area. For the more tame at heart, Lake Kariba offers unique opportunities to relax on the popular houseboats. Zimbabwe offers many canoe excursions in game parks and also guided tours through ancient villages.

Safety
The political climate in Zimbabwe is constantly in flux.  Civil unrest occurs mostly in Harare and other major towns and at this stage it is best to avoid these areas. Occupation of commercial farms has also been taking place, but generally the major tourist areas are unaffected.
Fuel shortages have also occurred, and self-drive holidays are not recommended.  Safaris organised by tour operators will never be run unless conditions are safe. Petty crime, theft and muggings are on the increase in Zimbabwe’s urban areas and travellers should practise common sense and keep valuables concealed at all times. The usual safety precautions when out in the wild apply.
