Mozambique is bordered by South Africa to the south, Zimbabwe to the west, Malawi to the north west and Tanzania in the north.
It is a country with a long coast line on the Indian Ocean and is best known for excellent beach holidays and island getaways.
Tourist numbers has only recently started climbing again in Mozambique after the civil war. During this time most of the wildlife in the parks were decimated and there were fears of landmines on the roads further inland from the coast.
South Africans frequent Mozambique for fishing and beach holidays mainly in Decembers and June holidays.

Mozambique`s rainy season is December through March with very hot and humid conditions. Winter is great along the coast as it is still warm but is dry and a lovely time to visit from June through November.
