Namibia is bordered to the north by Angola, north east by Zambia, east by Botswana and the South by South Africa. It has a long coastline on the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
Agriculture, mining and tourism are the biggest contributors to Namibia`s economy. With only 2.1 million people living in Namibia it is one of the least densely populated countries in the world.
Namibia is one of the last countries in Africa to gain independence and was granted complete independence in 1990 after German rule and South African protector ship.

Best time to visit:
Southern Namibia is mostly desert with very hot summers and warm winter days and cold winter nights. Southern Namibia gets very little rain and only in summer – December to March.
Northern Namibia is covered in savannah and woodland with hot summers and cool winters. Summer rains occur from December to late March / April.
The best time for game viewing is from July to end September when it is dry and the animals congregate around permanent water. The best time for birding is in summer from December to March.
